LPC’s speaker for this evening is Gwen Meehan.
Topic: Capturing the Beauty of Monarch Butterflies
“For two months every summer, Gwen Meehan offers portrait sessions with live monarch butterflies. Gwen will share exactly how she goes about doing these unique sessions, and you’ll leave knowing more about monarch butterflies than you did before you arrived. She will not only focus on the portraits with butterflies but will dedicate time to the macro photography used to document the monarch lifecycle from the tiniest egg to the fully emerged butterfly. If all goes well in the weeks leading up to the meeting, she will have butterflies on hand to release at the end of her talk. Her goal is not to teach you how to photograph with monarch butterflies, but to inspire you to try something new, to explore the natural world around you, and to incorporate your passions into your photography. ”
