Theme: Abstract
Theme Description: Photo in which the portrayal of things from the visible world plays little or no part.
Judge: Lori Lankford

Lori grew up near the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, spent 10 years in Texas, and once again calls Virginia home. Her passion for photography began as a way to capture her personal travel adventures. Living in and traveling west for many years, she fell in love with photographing the vast landscapes and wide-open skies. She tries to spend as many days as possible capturing a sunrise, chasing light through a forest, or watching the sun as it sets over the ocean.

Her recent work in macro photography has been a surprise addition to her photographic journey. To escape so deeply into the details of a tiny object turns off the world for a few moments.

She is proud to have her work exhibited in several galleries across the U.S. and to teach local macro workshops.

Her goal as a photographer and in life is to continue learning and growing. She always tries to capture the expected in unexpected ways and to embrace the light and the shadows.
